Dog Party Ideas - Bolt the Movie

It's no wonder Bolt party ideas and party supplies are one of the most popular kids party themes today. Since the release of this fun kids cartoon movie it has been one of the top kids party ideas! Disney movies are always very popular with kids and usually end up being an interesting and fun party theme.

Bolt the movie is a story about a movie star dog of the same name. All his life he has lived a fantasy world of nonstop action and super powers- without any inkling that all these are make-believe. In the early part of the movie, the TV canine's owner, Penny, is kidnapped during a scene in their TV series. Believing it to be a real kidnapping and fearing the worst for his owner, the Super Powered Dog went out to rescue her. However, Bolt is mistakenly shipped from a Hollywood studio to New York City. Upon realizing this, he embarks on his most exciting adventure as he journeys back home. Along the course of the movie, he meets two unlikely characters- Mittens the cat and hamster the Rhino.

Though adults in the movie were rarely drawn attention to, these three characters are what make the movie really entertaining- they're funny, witty and 100% adorable. Bolt with his super power illusions; Mittens the cunning and skeptical alley cat who helps the Hollywood dog find his way back home; and Rhino, the TV-crazed little hamster who is Bolt's number 1 fan. These three characters compliment each other well- Bolt lightens up Mittens, Mittens sheds some sense into Rhino, and Rhino boosts Bolt's confidence in himself! Mittens tags along with Bolt because she gets to eat food with him around, Bolt enlists Mittens because he thinks she is one of the spies of the "green-eyed" man, and Rhino, well he just follows Bolt everywhere because he is his biggest admirer.

Since Bolt has been a super dog all his movie star life, he really believes that he does in fact have super powers. In the movie, these characters encounter many challenges and mishaps, and he always handles these situations the way he does in his movies, of course with the help of his friends.

This Walt Disney animated flick is something that will surely have everyone laughing. It is full of surprises and funny scenes, that there is absolutely no dull moment in it. An animated movie that's full of depth, character and humor, Bolt is considered to be among the best family entertainment films to hit the cinemas in 2008.

Bolt Birthday Party Ideas

Bolt was released in November of 2008, and it is expected to be one of the most popular movies of the year. Naturally, that means a lot of kids are going to want to integrate Bolt into their everyday lives, and one such way to do that is with a Bolt themed birthday party.

You may be getting stressed at the prospect of holding a Bolt themed birthday party, but it can be an easy task when you use these birthday party ideas and some imagination.

Design a Super Hero Animal

This is a fun activity for the kids and it helps put their imagination to work for them. All you have to do is cut out a series of animals in cardboard, ranging from horses and chickens to dogs and cats. Then, each kid can choose the animal they want (so make lots) and then they can paint and color the cutout to design the super hero animal they want. They can even name them.

A Super Hero Show

Once the super hero cut outs are designed, you can have the kids perform a quick play using the super hero animal cut outs. This is a great activity because it will now help the kids take their creativity even further by creating a super hero persona and story to go with the super hero animal that they created. It can also be highly entertaining and it is unlikely anyone won't enjoy this great activity during the Bolt birthday party.

Baking Treats

This next activity involves everyone and it can actually help make the world a better place. There are plenty of recipes on the internet for making special dog treats from scratch. Have the kids help you make a big batch, and then you can feed them to the animals in the house. Once you have done that, tell the kids that you are going to take those left-over treats to the local animal shelter so that the other animals can have a happy 'birthday' too. It is a small gesture that may have a big effect for the kids.

Bolt is going to be a hit, there is no doubt about that and you can expect that your kids will ask for a Bolt theme birthday party. With some supplies and a bit of out of the box thinking, you can make a great birthday for everyone.

Want to start your child's birthday party off right? Of course. So, let Bolt, The Lightning Dog come to your rescue. Bolt is always up for adventure just like your child! You can display that heroic, cheerful spirit with Bolt birthday party supplies that feature Bolt and all his pals.

Start off your celebration using Bolt birthday invitations. Each guest will want to attend when he or she sees the image of this super-hero dog on the card. He barks and all the kids come running, ready to enjoy the party.

With everyone there you can make sure the party room is ready for them with some Bolt decorations. The Bolt Deluxe Pack makes that an easy task. It offers a complete birthday party in one easy-to-open package. With plates, cups, forks, and spoons, every hungry guest has all he needs to enjoy the party food and drink.

It also includes decorative curling ribbon, two colors of crepe paper rolls, Mylar balloons, and much more to make decorating in true Bolt style simple. It holds candles, a tablecloth, and - better grab this before your boy or girl does - a Bolt centerpiece.

If you want you can purchase all these separately. Stock up on all the Bolt 9" dinner plates, divided 10" 'Doggie Bowls', or the terrific Bolt 9oz drinking cups you need. Be sure to include the Bolt napkins showing the happy face of everyone's favorite super-hero dog.

Your birthday boy or girl is the center of attention at the party. But please your guests with Bolt Favor Boxes and they'll be talking about your party long afterward. The gift boxes sport the cheerful blue background and yellow stars that are Bolt's trademark. Naturally, every child won't want to wait to find out what's inside.

And what is inside? There are tons of 'doggie treats' for all your little howling hounds. There are jumbo-sized Dog Bone crayons and a washable lightning bolt tattoo so each guest can be a super hero, too. There's a fun sticker sheet and a Bolt Bounce Ball to take home.

You can arrange them next to the plates on a Bolt tablecloth and set a Bolt Blowout on the other side. Put the Bolt Hats on the plate and you are ready for any pack of hungry hounds. Let them dig into that cake, but be careful that no one eats the Bolt Cake Topper!

After the birthday is over you can express your appreciation with Bolt "Thank You" notes. All that hard work of yours made for a great celebration, but you'll want to thank all the guests for their thoughtful gifts and great company. That's what makes for a truly Bolt-sized extravaganza.

So, follow Bolt to the birthday party and prepare to howl at the moon. Everyone will follow your scent to the greatest celebration ever!
